Human-AI Teaming Workshop, Co-organizer
5th Workshop on Trends in Human-AI Teaming for Engineering Design · ASME IDETC 2026, Houston, TX
I helped plan and run a workshop on how humans and AI can work better together in engineering design, leading interactive activities and open discussions.
USDA Pecan Processing Workshops, Lead
Annual, 2023–Present
Each year I share our latest pecan research with 120+ industry partners, growers, and researchers, turning lab findings into practical steps for processing plants.

By day, I study trust in human-AI teams. By night, I’m the vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter for Soofia, a band based in Athens, Georgia.
As a member of the Recording Academy’s GRAMMY U, I get to learn from music-industry professionals, connect with fellow emerging artists, and explore the creative world beyond the stage. Think of it as a different kind of research community, one with a few more guitars.
By the way, I and my favorite person, Regina Troupe 💛
I go to as many concerts as I can. Officially, it’s fieldwork: thousands of strangers singing the same words at the same time might be the best real-world demonstration of how music creates connection and a sense of belonging. Unofficially, I just really love live music. (Here are just a few of the concerts I’ve been to, by the way. 😀 )
I've explored nearly 18 states so far, from the tropical beaches of Hawaii to the bright lights of Las Vegas and the energy of New York City. Every place has its own rhythm, and I love discovering what makes each one different.
My travel philosophy? Stay curious, keep the budget realistic, and always leave room for a detour.
You'll occasionally find me standing on my head. It's a fun way to challenge myself, clear my mind, and literally see things from a different angle.
As a researcher, I'm always looking for new perspectives. Apparently, sometimes I take that a little too literally.
